Delete Your EDinBOOK Account

Who this page is for

This page explains how to delete an account on EDinBOOK, the education and publishing platform at edinbook.com and in the EDinBOOK apps for Android (com.edinbook.edinbook) and iOS. It is published by EDinBOOK, the developer of the apps.

Option 1: in the EDinBOOK app

1. Open the EDinBOOK app and sign in.
2. Open the menu and choose Account Security, then use Delete Account at the bottom of the page. Or, on the sign-in screen, tap Delete Account.
3. Enter your password, confirm that you understand, and tap Permanently Delete Account.

Option 2: on the website

1. Sign in at https://edinbook.com/login.php
2. Open Account Security.
3. In Delete Account, enter your password, type DELETE and select I understand, delete my account.

Option 3: by e-mail

If you cannot sign in, e-mail contact@edinbook.com from the e-mail address registered to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We may ask you to confirm your identity before deleting it, and we reply within 30 days.

What happens when you delete your account

• Your account is deactivated immediately, and every device signed in to it is signed out.
• Within 30 days your name, phone number, profile photo and profile details, password, two-factor secret, sign-in tokens, device identifier and notification token are deleted, and your account is shown as “Deleted user”.
• Purchased books and wallet credit cannot be used after deletion. If you have a wallet balance or a publisher balance, contact us before deleting your account.

What we keep, and for how long

• Financial transaction records (purchases, top-ups, refunds and publisher payouts) are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and are used for no other purpose. Your e-mail address is kept only as the reference on those records.
• Posts, messages, assessment answers and attendance records you made in a class stay with that class under “Deleted user”, because lecturers and institutions keep them as academic records. E-mail contact@edinbook.com if you want them removed as well.
• AI-feature request logs are deleted after 90 days.
• Books a publisher sold remain available to the customers who bought them, as set out in our Terms of Use and Publisher Agreement.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You can ask us to delete specific data, such as a profile photo, attendance records or answers you submitted, by e-mailing contact@edinbook.com. Full details are in our Privacy Policy: https://edinbook.com/privacy.php
